SNHPA is pleased to announce that legislation has been introduced in the U.S. Senate to extend the 340B discount to the inpatient setting in DSH hospitals, and to make children’s hospitals and certain rural hospitals eligible for the 340B program. The bill introduced by Senators Jeff Bingaman (D-N.M.) and John Thune (R-S.D.), the 340B Program Integrity and Improvement Act (S. 1239), is virtually identical to language in the historic healthcare reform bill introduced earlier this week. The Bingaman-Thune bill also proposes other improvements to the program, such as guaranteeing your hospital access to the government’s 340B pricing file.
