New Report Upholds Medicare Payments to 340B Hospitals, Affirms Program Savings
A new report issued by the Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General (OIG) has reviewed Medicare payments to a sample of hospitals in response to some stakeholders' concerns that Part B payments exceed drug acquisition costs for 340B hospitals but are at or below acquisition costs for non-340B hospitals. The OIG dismissed these concerns and concluded that this difference is expected because the 340B program is working properly.
