
Schering-Plough Settles Medicaid Best Price Case
Company Agrees to Pay $3.9 Million to 340B EntitiesPharmaceutical manufacturer Schering-Plough has agreed to a $435 million settlement with the federal government that includes tens of millions of dollars in refunds to state Medicaid programs and close to $4 million to entities in the Public Health Service 340B drug discount program because of violations of the best price law, the U.S. Attorney for the District of Massachusetts announced August 29th. According to the settlement, the company has also agreed to repay any additional amount that 340B entities overpaid for certain medications as a result of the company’s actions.
