The
Medicare Rx Bill’s Impact on Hospital Pharmacies, the Pharmaceutical
Industry and Other Key Stakeholders in the Government’s 340B Drug Discount
Program
Hosted by
the Public Hospital Pharmacy Coalition
February
27th, 2004
Marriott Wardman Hotel, Washington DC
|
A conference designed for disproportionate share
hospitals, the pharmaceutical industry, GPOs, wholesalers, and others
concerned about providing quality pharmaceutical care to low-income
and uninsured populations while ensuring compliance with drug pricing
laws. |
|
Introduction |
|
The Medicare Rx reform law is the most sweeping health
reform legislation in four decades. It will have a major impact on all
parties involved in the delivery of pharmaceutical care and will have
a profound effect on the various stakeholders involved in the
acquisition and delivery of pharmaceutical care to our nation’s
low-income and uninsured populations. The law also has major
implications for various federal drug discount programs including the
340B and Medicaid rebate programs. The Public Hospital Pharmacy
Coalition will host a one day national conference in Washington, DC on
February 27th that will provide your institution or company with the
information it needs to prepare for this new environment.
You will hear from key officials from Federal and State
governments on how to comply and implement key provisions of the law
including the new drug discount card, best price exemptions for buyers
such as DSH hospitals, Medicare PBMs and retiree health plans, and the
new hospital pharmacy outpatient reimbursement system. You will also
hear from HRSA’s Pharmacy Affairs Branch on various initiatives
including the new prime vendor program. This conference is
unparalleled in providing timely information and relevant strategies
for providers and industry representatives on how to prepare for
government regulation of the new pharmacy world.
