Tom Mirga is the Executive Editor of SNHPA's two online publications, the Drug Discount Monitor and the SNHPA Member Bulletin. The Monitor is the nation’s first and only publication focused on the 340B drug discount program and related issues affecting safety-net pharmacies and other 340B stakeholders. The Bulletin is an exclusive news service for SNHPA members. Tom also provides guidance on the editorial content of SNHPA’s Web site and other publications.

Tom is a veteran editor and writer who has focused his career in the areas of health care, environmental and education policy. His past clients in the health policy arena include the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s Aligning Forces for Quality initiative, the National Commission on Urban Indian Healthcare, the National Health Plan Collaborative, the Long-Term Care Pharmacy Alliance, and the Progressive Policy Institute’s Health Priorities Project.

Tom is the former editor of the Democratic Leadership Council’s magazine The New Democrat and the former executive editor of its policy journal Blueprint. He was also news editor of the national newspaper Education Week and a senior associate at the Washington-based public relations firm CommunicationWorks. Tom received his bachelor of arts degree in journalism from the University of Michigan.
