Anna Mangum is the Manager of the Alliance to Protect 340B. In this role, Ms. Mangum works closely with Alliance member hospitals and health systems to advance their legislative and regulatory agenda, which will significantly restrict the use of the 340B program and add new burdens to providers. In particular, she is working with members to challenge two recent government proposals. Most recently, she was Director of New Business Development for the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA). NCQA develops and implements accreditation, certification and other measurement and reporting programs to improve the performance of America's managed care and other health insurance plans. In that capacity, Ms. Mangum worked closely with senior executives to identify promising new opportunities, and designed new products and programs for emerging healthcare areas such as disease management, physician "pay-for-performance" and HIPAA. She also conceived new business plans for NCQA's federal and state consulting practice.
Prior to her tenure with NCQA, Ms. Mangum worked in San Francisco for The Healthcare Forum, where she developed and oversaw a variety of educational programs for health care executives. While in the Bay Area, she was an evaluation and program design consultant for a number of non-profit health and prevention organizations. Ms. Mangum’s public policy experience includes serving as a Legislative Assistant in the U.S. House of Representatives and as Editorial/Research Assistant for Common Cause Magazine.
Ms. Mangum earned her Master of Public Health and Master of Social Welfare from the University of California at Berkeley. She earned her B.A. from the University of Virginia. |
