Rita Baskett is SNHPA’s new Director of Pharmacy and Educational Services. She provides guidance to SNHPA members on strategies to reduce costs and improve patient care including 340B implementation, the Medicare Part D program and patient assistance programs. She also advises SNHPA staff and management on pharmacy related issues.

Rita previously worked as Pharmacist Supervisor of Special Projects for Carolinas HealthCare System. In her previous position, she managed patient assistance programs, bulk replenishment programs and audits, the pharmacy chargemaster group, and the buyer of 340B medications. She also was the lead contact for the health care system on Medicare Part D. She helped Carolinas HealthCare System save an average over $10 million annually. Rita comes to SNHPA with more than 14 years of pharmacy experience in retail, long-term care, clinic-based pharmacy, inpatient care, and medication therapy management. She is also a Certified Immunization Pharmacist with the Board of Pharmacy in North Carolina.

Rita is a graduate of Long Island University's Arnold and Marie Schwartz College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences with a bachelor of science degree in pharmacy, and a graduate of Pfeiffer University with master of business administration/master of health administration dual degree. She is also a licensed pharmacist in the states of North Carolina and New Jersey.
